Saturday Stage Schools have been established since 1998 in North Tyneside. Our school is designed to offer children of all ages the opportunity to develop their skills within the performing arts. Students will take classes in the three main disciplines within performing arts, music, drama and dance, all under the direction and leadership of highly qualified and experienced staff.
We offer modern and quirky sessions providing diverse training within the given fields, enabling children to experience, develop and showcase all skills and talents. We offer children the chance to develop leadership qualities, experiment and improvise, be creative and develop their own ideas, as well as mentoring children through structured teaching styles, providing challenging tasks and group activities.
Each year we uphold our outstanding reputation by performing at the Whitley Bay Playhouse, some of our past shows have included, Billy Elliot, Bugsy Malone and Seussical The Musical. We strive to ensure our students perform in a theatre to enable them to achieve the best theatrical experience possible. Our main show usually takes place in July with several other events taking place throughout the year such as our annual Christmas workshop where children showcase work they have been doing. Many of our older students participate each Spring in the Ryton festival, where we have won many awards and trophies.
The fees for our students vary depending on the age of the children and which of our schools they attend, however, we do endeavour to break costs down to help with family budgets and also offer sibling discount.
We are always on hand to offer support and advice to our students and regularly inform them of opportunities which may arise within the performing arts field. We take great pleasure in hearing all of our students’ stories past and present, encouraging them to share their experiences with us.
