Saturday Stage School’s older students have been awarded the The Mary Gray cup 12 times over the last 13years.
In 2013 the school won the under 18 drama competition at the Ryton Music and Drama Festival, with an excerpt from the play “MY FACE ” by Nigel Williams. The group was awarded 87 marks out of 100 ( Distinction ) the piece was commended for it’s convincing performance both technically and artistically.
The school enters many different aspects of the competition, often competing in the Monologue, Duologue, Mime and TV advert sections.
The festival takes place over a two week period from the end of February and first week in March and the school takes pride in taking part each year.
The photograph below shows some the students who competed in March 2017, proudly holding their certificates and trophies after being awarded 4 first places, along with other excellent results, including a distinction mark for our acting duo.
